I've been using music to teach history for some 25 years in schools thoughout Illinois and Wisconsin by using a combination of music, slides, and stories. My "Heartland" and "Wiscon-sing"programs have been seen by thousands of kids, espeically 4th graders studying state history. Info is at www.davidhbdrake.com
In Milwaukee we've formed a cooperative called "Organic Arts" made up of teaching artists who have made a career of using the arts in schools to teach cirriculum subjects. I'm curious what "Chicagoteachingartist" is about.
